Elementary School Cross Country Race in the Dry Canyon at American Legion Park for grades 3-5.

Hello Parents of 3-5th Grade!

My name is Coach Jacob Cuniff and I teach Social Studies and coach our cross country team here at Obsidian Middle school.

On Wednesday, September 23, 2026 we will be holding an 

Elementary School Cross Country Race in the Dry Canyon at American Legion Park for grades 3-5. 

This event will be a fundraiser for our middle school cross country team. 

A $10 donation would be appreciated, but all runners are welcome whether they pay or not. 

*There will be no pre-registration or pre- payment options. Families will need to sign an RSD liability waiver at the park upon arrival to participate in the race.*

How far? The race will be a 2 Kilometer race ran around American Legion Park. That’s 1.25 miles or 5 laps on the track. 

Girls race 6:15 pm - Arrive by 5:45 or sooner for pre meet registration

Boys race 6:45 pm - Arrive by 6:00 pm or sooner for pre meet registration

Concessions: We will have Kona Ice and Tom’s Traveling Coffee Truck on site for purchase. 

Parking: Families are encouraged to park at Redmond High School or other nearby parking lots due to congestion at American Legion Park.
